KRG Prime Minister Barzani visits Peshmerga in Prde

On Friday, June 30, 2023, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) visited the Peshmerga forces in Prde to commemorate the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. During the visit, PM Barzani expressed his gratitude to the Peshmerga forces for their resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering defence of the Kurdistan Region's assets and constitutional entity.

Emphasising the Kurdistan Region's commitment to the constitution and bilateral agreements with the federal government, the PM stressed that they will persist in resolving pending issues while safeguarding their constitutional rights. Furthermore, PM Barzani revealed his ongoing communication with Prime Minister Muhammed Shia’ al-Sudani to address the pressing matter of land being taken from Kurdish and Turkomani farmers in the Kurdistani areas outside the KRG region. He confirmed that, in response, PM Al-Sudani has taken certain measures to address this issue.

PM Barzani reiterated the importance of implementing Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution as the means to resolve this issue effectively.
