Kurdistan Region and Türkiye Focus on Resuming Oil Exports

On Monday, November 27, 2023, the Kurdistan Regional Government's Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a meeting with Ali Rıza Güney, the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye, particularly in trade exchange and easing visa and travel procedures.

Discussions also emphasised the importance of resuming oil exports from the Kurdistan Region. Both parties acknowledged the urgency of restarting oil shipments through Turkey's Ceyhan port.

Ambassador Güney expressed Türkiye’s willingness to assist in the resumption of the oil export process from the Kurdistan Region through Türkiye.
