KRG Prime Minister Hosts President of Sovereignty Alliance

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani warmly received Mr. Khamis al-Khanjar, the President of the Sovereignty Alliance.

During their meeting, they explored the current state of affairs in Iraq, underlining the crucial importance of resolving pending matters between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government in Baghdad in accordance with the constitution and established agreements.

Furthermore, their discussions revolved around the latest developments in Kirkuk, with both parties expressing deep concern about the use of violence against civilians who took part in recent demonstrations in the city. They jointly called for the normalisation of Kirkuk.
