High-Level Summit in Erbil: Strengthening Ties Between Türkiye and Kurdistan

On Monday, 22 April 2024, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, alongside Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), warmly received Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, and his delegation at Erbil International Airport.

Subsequently, in a meeting that included Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister and several KRG ministers, both parties engaged in discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and reviewed the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.

They highlighted the critical importance of sustaining regional security and stability, resolving ongoing issues between Baghdad and Erbil through constitutional negotiations, and committed to deepening trade and investment cooperation.
