Prime Minister Masrour Barzani meets with the commander of the global coalition

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) — Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today welcomed General Kevin Leahy, Commander of Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve.

They discussed developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and Syria, and enhancing cooperation and coordination to confront ISIS and the threat of terrorism more generally.

On the situation in Syria, they agreed on the need to maintain security and stability, and ensure the rights and protection of the Kurdish people and other communities in the region.

They also discussed progress in unifying the Peshmerga forces and ongoing reforms within the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs.
