KRG Prime Minister and Arab League Secretary-General Meet in Dubai

On 13 February 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with the Arab League’s Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit during the World Government Summit in Dubai.

Their discussions focused on the current situation in Iraq and the broader region, and enhancement of the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the Arab League.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked the Arab League for its condemnation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' missile attack on Erbil on 15 January.

Secretary-General Aboul Gheit acknowledged the pivotal role of the Kurdistan Region and extended his regards to President Massoud Barzani for his role and influential contributions.

Both leaders underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Kurdistan Region and throughout Iraq.
