KRG Prime Minister Meets with U.S. Congress Members
On 29 February 2024, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government engaged in discussions with several U.S. Congress members in Washington, D.C.
The meeting saw the participation of notable figures, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with Representatives Seth Moulton, Don Bacon, Brad Wenstrup, and Amata Coleman Radewagen.
Representative Bacon extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Barzani on Congress's behalf, lauding him as a steadfast advocate for freedom. He underscored the critical importance of fostering security, peace, and stability within the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation and support from the United States towards the Kurdistan Region. He emphasised the crucial importance of adhering to the Iraqi constitution, which ensures the Kurdish people's constitutional rights and acknowledges the Kurdistan Region's federal status.
Representative Pelosi commended the Kurdish people's bravery and sacrifices, while Representative Moulton reiterated his unwavering support for a robust Kurdistan in all respects.
