KRG Prime Minister Engages with US National Security Advisor in Davos

On Tuesday, January 16th, 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held a meeting with Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The meeting primarily focused on the recent attack on Erbil by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, highlighting the critical need for sustained security and stability in the Kurdistan Region.

Jake Sullivan, representing the United States, affirmed support for the Kurdistan Region. He emphasised plans to discuss with President Joe Biden the implementation of strategies to maintain peace in the region.

Prime Minister Barzani stressed that the continuous attacks and intentional targeting of civilians are unacceptable and must cease immediately.
