KRG Prime Minister Inaugurates Eagle Post Centre in Erbil
On Saturday, 9 June 2024, Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), inaugurated the Eagle Post Company in Erbil, enhancing postal services in the region.
Eagle Post, a leading postal service provider in the Kurdistan Region, was established in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. The company aims to improve the postal industry by providing seamless access to the world through innovation and reliable delivery in the postal sector. Their work program promotes Kurdistan as a developed region for citizens, companies, and local and international institutions.
In his speech, Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the significance of Eagle Post as a collaborative joint venture between the public and private sectors, emphasising its role in the KRG's agenda to improve telecommunications and postal services.
“The centre will further connect the cities and districts throughout the Kurdistan Region, as well as with Iraq and the rest of the world. This initiative is part of the government’s agenda to modernise and digitise public services, thereby reducing bureaucracy,” Barzani stated.
Prime Minister Barzani stressed the importance of postal deliveries and telecommunications in providing essential public services, facilitating daily life, and saving time. “The provision of modern postal services will alleviate traffic congestion, reduce the burden on both the public and private sectors, and facilitate trade movement,”Barzani concluded.
