KRG Prime Minister Meets with the Commander of Operation Inherent Resolve

On Wednesday, 12 June 2024, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani convened with Major General Joel B. Vowell, commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve. The meeting was also attended by Shoresh Ismail, Minister of Peshmerga Affairs.

Their discussions focused on recent developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Syria. Both sides reiterated their commitment to supporting the reforms of the Ministry of Peshmerga and the unification of the forces.

The meeting highlighted the importance of maintaining security and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. It also emphasised the need to enhance coordination and cooperation between the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army, and coalition forces to effectively confront the threats posed by the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) and other terrorist groups.
