KRG Prime Minister and British Ambassador Discuss Key Issues

On 27 March 2024, Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government met with Steven Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq.

The central focus of their discussion was a united stance on the importance of maintaining the Kurdistan Region's established position as a federal entity within Iraq, particularly in light of recent court rulings over the treatment of the region.

Additionally, the conversation turned towards the upcoming Kurdistan Parliament elections. Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the critical importance of conducting transparent, equitable elections, ensuring that the process respects the diverse ethnic and religious groups within the Kurdistan Region, and upholds everyone's rights.
