KRG Prime Minister Bids Farewell to Vatican Ambassador
On Wednesday, 15 May 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), bid farewell to Mitja Leskovar, the departing Vatican Ambassador to Iraq.
Ambassador Leskovar expressed his gratitude to the KRG for facilitating and assisting the Vatican Embassy, which greatly contributed to his successful tenure. He also praised the KRG's role in protecting and safeguarding the rights of all ethnic and religious groups in the Kurdistan Region, especially Christians.
Prime Minister Barzani thanked Ambassador Leskovar for his efforts in enhancing bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Vatican. He emphasised the importance of promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence among the region's diverse communities and reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of every group.
