KRG Prime Minister Meets Iraq's National Security Advisor

On Thursday, 30 May 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with Qasim al-Araji, Iraq’s National Security Advisor.

The meeting focused on Iraq's overall security situation, addressing threats and combating terrorism. Both sides emphasised the importance of collaboration and coordination between the KRG and the central government.

Al-Araji highlighted that the Kurdistan Region is a constitutionally recognised region in Iraq, and its strength is integral to Iraq's strength. Therefore, fostering a positive relationship between Erbil and Baghdad is essential.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the importance of effective security coordination between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, expressing hope that this positive collaboration would extend to other areas.
