PM Masrour Barzani receives US Senators in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) - Today Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed U.S. Senate delegation led by Senator Ted Budd and Senator Joni Ernst in Erbil. They discussed strengthening bilateral relations, developments in Iraq, and the need to protect the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional and financial entitlements.

The delegation reaffirmed their support for the stability and security of the Kurdistan Region and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani thanked the United States' continued support, particularly for the Peshmerga.

They all agreed on the importance of resolving issues between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government through dialogue, based on constitutional agreements, and respecting the Kurdistan Region as a federal and constitutional entity.

They also touched on the Kurdistan Region's parliamentary elections, emphasizing support for free, transparent, and fair elections involving all groups and ensuring the protection of all components' rights.
