KRG Prime Minister Meets with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan

On Monday, 9 September 2024, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) met with Nasir Mammadov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iraq.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mammadov extended an official invitation to Prime Minister Barzani to attend the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), which is set to take place later this year in Baku.

The discussions also centered on strengthening bilateral relations, with both parties emphasising the importance of establishing consular services to facilitate closer cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his commitment to fostering a stronger partnership with Azerbaijan, highlighting the mutual benefits of enhanced diplomatic and economic ties.
