KRG Prime Minister Receives the Ambassador of Russia

On Monday, 30 September, 2024, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) met with Elbrus Kutrashev, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Russia and the current situation in Iraq and the wider region.

Prime Minister Barzani and Ambassador Kutrashev also discussed the latest preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the region, emphasising the importance of conducting the process in a peaceful atmosphere free from violations.

Additionally, the two sides expressed the need to resolve the issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government and to ensure that the Kurdistan Region's constitutional rights are upheld.
