KRG Prime Minister Receives UK Ambassador

On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), held a meeting with Stephen Hitchen, the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting which was also attended by Andrew Bizley, the UK Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, focused on preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region.

They both emphasised the importance of the elections being held in a peaceful and fair manner, free from fraud or other violations.

The current efforts in resolving disputes between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, including the Region’s financial entitlements and continued support for the Peshmerga, were also discussed.
