Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives French Foreign Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.

Minister Barrot expressed his pleasure at visiting Erbil and reaffirmed the strong friendship between France and the Kurdistan Region, describing the Kurdistan Region as an important pillar of security and stability in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s appreciation for France’s continued support and stressed the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations across all sectors.

They agreed on the need to form the new KRG cabinet without delay.

They also discussed Erbil-Baghdad relations, the importance of safeguarding the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region, upholding Iraq’s federal system, and resuming oil exports from the Kurdistan Region as soon as possible.
