Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives US Delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a US delegation led by Victoria Taylor, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq.

They discussed strengthening bilateral relations, the situation in Iraq and the wider region, and efforts to form a new KRG cabinet.

They emphasized the importance of forming the new cabinet as soon as possible, ahead of Iraq’s parliamentary elections scheduled for later this year. They also stressed the need to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region via the Iraq-Türkiye pipeline without further delay, citing the significant damage the halt has had on Iraq’s federal revenues and budget.

They highlighted the importance of safeguarding the constitutional and financial rights of the Kurdistan Region and respecting its federal and constitutional status.
