Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Congratulates New Speaker of the Federal Council of Representatives

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday sent a message of congratulations to the new Speaker of Iraq’s Federal Council of Representatives. The following is the full text of his message:

His Excellency Mr. Haibat Al-Halbousi,

On the occasion of your election as the Speaker of the Federal Council of Representatives, I extend my sincere congratulations and wish you success in carrying out this mission and assuming this responsibility.

We look forward to the members of this new parliamentary term to rise to the level of the aspirations, hopes and ambitions of the Iraqi people and to being their best representatives, successfully passing the necessary and fundamental legislation that serves the interests of all components.

We also count on the Council of Representatives, in its capacity as an important legislative institution, to play its role effectively in resolving the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.
