Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Hosts Ambassadors, CGs, Envoys, and Diplomats of Foreign Countries in the Kurdistan Region for New Year

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday welcomed ambassadors, consuls general, envoys, diplomats, and representatives of UN agencies and militaries in the Kurdistan Region at a reception to celebrate Christmas and the coming new year.

In his speech, the Prime Minister celebrated the Christmas season and the new year, expressing hope that the year ahead will bring joy, prosperity, peace, and stability to the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the world. He also highlighted the Kurdistan Regional Government’s achievements and key reforms in 2025, while noting the tragedies and natural disasters experienced during the year, including the floods that struck several parts of the Kurdistan Region last week, particularly in Chamchamal.

The Prime Minister further reviewed the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as ongoing efforts and discussions to form the new Iraqi federal cabinet and the next Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet. He thanked the diplomats for enriching Kurdistan with their presence.
