Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s New Year Message for 2026

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday issued a message on the occasion of the new year 2026. The following is the full text of his message:

On the occasion of the arrival of the new year 2026, I extend my warmest congratulations to all citizens of the Kurdistan Region and to all Kurdistanis in the diaspora, and I wish you a year filled with happiness and peace.

The past year was a year of many achievements and the completion of several important and strategic projects. At the same time, it was a year of obstacles and challenges.

With the support and the resilience of the patriotic people of Kurdistan, over the past year we were able to deliver the KRG’s reforms across various sectors, particularly ensuring 24-hour electricity, addressing water scarcity, building roads, and improving the financial and banking infrastructure. We remain committed to further serving the people of Kurdistan.

We hope that in the near future, a new KRG cabinet will be formed, which regrettably has been obstructed so far.

The higher interests of Kurdistan must no longer be sacrificed for the interests of any side.

We also hope that the new federal cabinet will be formed soon, based on the principles of partnership, balance, and consensus.
