KRG Prime Minister Meets UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister

On Thursday, 13 February, 2025, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Suhail Mohamed Al-Mazrouei, the United Arab Emirates Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. The meeting was also attended by KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in energy and economic infrastructure development. Prime Minister Barzani outlined the KRG’s ongoing energy sector reforms, the modernisation of the electricity grid, improvements to public services, and strategic initiatives aimed at achieving 24-hour electricity across the Kurdistan Region by the end of 2026.

Minister Al-Mazrouei reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Kurdistan Region, emphasising the potential for collaboration in energy, renewable energy, and electricity sector advancements.
