Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad Hasan AlShaibani, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos today.

The meeting focused on the situation in Syria, bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Syria, and broader regional developments.

Minister AlShaibani provided an overview of Syria’s current situation, outlining efforts by the new administration to restore peace, stability, and public services. He emphasized the importance of the Kurdish people as an integral part of Syrian society and reassured that their rights would be safeguarded. He also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Barzani to visit Damascus.

Prime Minister Barzani underlined the Kurdistan Region's commitment to supporting peace and stability in Syria, emphasizing the well-being of the Kurdish community and other groups. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of protecting the rights of all communities in Syria and fostering regional stability.

During the discussions, the role of President Masoud Barzani in uniting Kurdish parties in Syria and contributing to regional security and stability was also highlighted and commended.
