Prime Minister Barzani Receives Turkish Ambassador

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anıl Bora İnan, today. The meeting was also attended by Erman Topçu, the Turkish Consul General in Erbil.

They discussed strengthening bilateral relations, and the resumption of oil exports through the ITP.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked Türkiye for their role in easing the access of stranded citizens during the closure of airspace.

They also discussed the overall situation in Iraq and the wider region, as well as efforts to resolve outstanding issues between the KRG and the Federal Government.

Ambassador İnan praised and congratulated the success of Runaki project which aims to provide 24/7 electricity to all of Kurdistan Region by 2026. Both sides stressed the importance of putting an end to terrorist attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region’s economic and energy infrastructure.

The two sides also discussed the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure the success of the peace process in Türkiye.
