Readout of Prime Minister Barzani’s call with US National Security Advisor Waltz

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz spoke by phone today, Friday 21 March.

During the call, Prime Minister Barzani and Mr Waltz discussed ways to advance the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq with the United States.

They agreed on the need for a new KRG cabinet to be formed as soon as possible and both sides reaffirmed the need to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister and Mr Waltz also discussed the rapid developments in the Middle East and the importance of maintaining stability in the region.
