Prime Minister Barzani Arrives in Washington DC on Official Visit

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) — Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Washington D.C. on Saturday.

During the visit, Prime Minister Barzani is scheduled to meet senior officials from the U.S. administration and Congress. He will also engage with American business leaders.

The discussions will focus on strengthening the partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, in particular in trade and investment. In that regard, Prime Minister Barzani will take part in a special session at an energy forum in Washington, D.C., titled “The Future of Energy and Power in the Kurdistan Region.” During the event, Prime Minister Barzani will outline the KRG’s vision for energy development and the opportunities for American companies in the sector.

Prime Minister Barzani is accompanied by the following KRG officials:

1. Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Mr. Shoresh Ismail Abdulla
2. Minister of Electricity and (acting) Minister of Natural Resources, Mr. Kamal Mohammad Salih Khalil
3. Head of Department of Foreign Relations, Minister Safeen Dizayee
4. Cabinet Secretary, Minister Amanj Raheem
5. KRG Representative to the United States, Ms. Treefa Aziz
