Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets with Senator Ted Budd

Washington, D.C. (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Senator Ted Budd in Washington as part of his official visit to the United States.

They reaffirmed their shared desire to further develop bilateral relations and reiterated the need for continued support for the Peshmerga forces.

They discussed a range of topics, including the importance of resolving outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government of Iraq within the framework of the Iraqi Constitution and the Region’s federal status, KRG's ongoing reform agenda — from economic diversification and energy development to electricity, banking reform, and the digitalisation of public services. They also discussed efforts to form the new KRG cabinet.
