Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets with U.S. Acting Under Secretary of the Treasury

Washington, D.C. (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Bradley Smith, Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in Washington, D.C., as part of his official visit to the United States.

They discussed the KRG's reform agenda in the financial and banking sectors.

ADS Smith expressed his admiration for the progress of the KRG’s MyAccount initiative and reaffirmed the Treasury Department’s support for this project and the broader reform efforts. He noted that the U.S. government highly values the KRG’s reform agenda under the Prime Minister’s leadership, especially in the area of public finance, and emphasized that such reforms could serve as a model for other countries.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for the U.S. Treasury’s support and reiterated the KRG’s strong commitment to financial reform and the digitalization of public services.
