Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets with U.S. Secretary of Energy

Washington, D.C. (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright in Washington, D.C., as part of his official visit to the United States.

Secretary Wright welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit and reaffirmed U.S. support for the two major energy deals recently signed between the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources and American companies HKN Energy and WesternZagros. He also underscored the importance of expanding U.S. energy investment in the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for U.S. support and presented an overview of the KRG’s reform efforts in various fields, particularly in energy, Runaki, MyAccount and the government's broader strategy to strengthen the Region’s economic foundations.
