Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives UK Ambassador

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) — Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Irfan Siddiq, the UK Ambassador to Iraq. They discussed the political situation in Iraq following the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

Ambassador Siddiq congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful elections and expressed hope that the outcome would contribute to stability, institutional functionality, and improved public services across Iraq.

Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed that for the Kurdistan Region, what matters the most is the program and performance of the incoming Iraqi government, its commitment to the Constitution and agreements, and the implementation of lasting solutions to the core issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.

They stressed the importance of expediting the formation of the new KRG cabinet. The Prime Minister emphasized that following the completion of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, a new opportunity has emerged to form the next cabinet in the Kurdistan Region.
