Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives Türkiye Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) - Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Anıl Bora İnan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Iraq.

The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of Türkiye in Erbil, Erman Topçu.

Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye, as well as reviewing the situation in Iraq and preparations for the upcoming federal parliamentary elections.

Ambassador İnan praised the KRG’s ongoing reform initiatives, particularly highlighting the success of the Runaki project and other efforts in environmental protection, such as the Erbil Green Belt Initiative and the Emergency Water Project.

The two sides also discussed the tripartite agreement concerning the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region through Türkiye’s Ceyhan Port. They underscored the importance of this agreement as a step toward the eventual passage of the long-awaited federal oil and gas law in the next session of the Iraqi Parliament.
