Prime Minister Barzani Receives Dutch Embassy Charge d’Affaires

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Christoph Prommersberger, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Adrian Eiselstein, Consul General of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, also attended the meeting.

They discussed strengthening bilateral relations and political and security developments in Iraq and the wider region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed gratitude to the Netherlands mission for supporting the KRG’s reform agenda, particularly in advancing economic diversification and developing the agricultural sector.

Mr. Prommersberger commended the Kurdistan Region for its progress, prosperity, and culture of peaceful coexistence, as well as for its generosity in hosting refugees and IDPs. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to further strengthening ties with the Kurdistan Region, noting that a Dutch business delegation will soon visit to expand trade and economic cooperation.

They also discussed ongoing efforts to form the new KRG cabinet, resolve outstanding issues between the KRG and the federal government, and secure the constitutional rights and financial entitlements of the people of Kurdistan.
