Prime Minister Barzani Receives First Deputy Speaker of Iraq’s Council of Representatives

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Speaker of Iraq’s Council of Representatives, in Erbil. The meeting was also attended by Shakhawan Abdullah, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives.

They discussed recent political developments in Iraq, preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections, and the overall situation in the country.

They underscored the importance of resolving outstanding issues between the KRG and the federal government, on the basis of respect for Iraq’s federal system, the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region, and the provision of the Kurdistan Region’s rightful financial entitlements.
