Prime Minister Barzani Receives French Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Patrick Durel, Ambassador of France to Iraq, in Erbil.

The meeting was also attended by Jan Brem, Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.

They discussed strengthening bilateral ties, Erbil-Baghdad relations, the situation in Iraq, and preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Prime Minister Barzani emphasized that, as a federal region, the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights must be fully respected in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution, and that its share of the budget and financial entitlements should be delivered without delay or obstacles.

They also exchanged views on ongoing efforts and consultations regarding the formation of the new KRG cabinet.
