Prime Minister Barzani Receives Turkish Delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) — Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received a Turkish delegation led by ambassador Ali Reza Güney, Director General of Iraq and Iran Affairs at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Erman Topçu, Consul General of Türkiye in the Kurdistan Region.

They discussed strengthening bilateral relations based on shared interests, as well as the situation in Iraq and the wider region.

They also addressed the need to resolve outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, ensuring the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights and financial entitlements. They exchanged views on developments in Syria, protecting the rights of the Kurdish people and other communities in the country, and the peace process in Türkiye.
