Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives Delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Today, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church, led by Metropolitan Anthony, Chairman of the Department of External Church Relations.

Russian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Maksim Rubin, also attended the meeting.

They emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among religious communities.

Prime Minister Barzani reaffirmed that the Kurdistan Region is a homeland for all religions and faiths and that the government remains committed to deepening the values of coexistence, tolerance, and brotherhood among its diverse components.

The Russian Orthodox Church delegation expressed their appreciation for visiting the Kurdistan Region and highlighted how all religious and ethnic communities live together in peace, with their rights fully respected.
