Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets Banks and E-Wallets Participating in MyAccount and e-Psule in the Presence of CBI Governor

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met, in the presence of Mr. Ali Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, with officials and representatives of a number of Iraqi and Kurdistan Region banks and e-wallet providers participating in the MyAccount and e-Psule projects.

They stressed the importance of improving the banking system and enhancing cooperation and coordination between the KRG, the CBI, and the banks involved in the two projects.

The Prime Minister thanked the Governor of the CBI and his team for facilitating cooperation and coordination with the KRG and for supporting the KRG’s reforms to advance and modernize the banking system. He also commended the Central Bank’s reforms aimed at strengthening and improving Iraq’s banking sector.

Governor Al-Alaq praised the Prime Minister’s vision on banking reform and the digitalization of public services, and reaffirmed his readiness to provide full cooperation and coordination with the relevant entities of the KRG.
