Prime Minister Barzani Meets Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met with Maxime Prévot, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.

They stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and Belgium, particularly by expanding cooperation in investment and trade.

Deputy Prime Minister Prévot reaffirmed his country’s support for the Kurdistan Region.

They also discussed the situation in Iraq and the region, including confronting the threats posed by ISIS terrorists. Both sides expressed their concern over the clashes and military escalation in Syria and the danger of ISIS resurgence, and emphasized the need to enhance international cooperation and coordination to address these threats and risks.
