Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Meets President Ilham Aliyev in Davos

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday met with Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Davos.

They agreed on the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors, particularly in investment and trade.

President Aliyev noted the longstanding and friendly ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Kurdistan. He invited the Prime Minister to visit Baku and expressed his country’s readiness to open a Consulate General in Erbil.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s desire to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

They also discussed the situation in the region, particularly developments in Syria, during which the Prime Minister expressed his concern over the violence and military escalation.
