Statement by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on the Agreement Between the Syrian Government and the SDF

I welcome the agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces. I hope that this agreement will be expanded and lead to greater peace, freedom, stability, and progress for all of Syria, particularly the Kurdish areas. This can be a starting point for ensuring the legitimate rights of all Syrian components and pave the way for the dignified return of refugees to their homes and places of origin.

The solidarity and support of the people of Kurdistan around the world, and the role of President Barzani in ending tensions and creating a path of dialogue to fundamentally resolve the issues, made us all proud.

We appreciate the role of President Trump, the U.S. government and Congress, and other allies in ending tensions, supporting the legitimate rights of all Syrian communities, and promoting stability in the region.
