Council of ministers discusses final steps to implement federal budget law

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The Council of Ministers met on Wednesday under the supervision of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to discuss the final implementation steps of 2021 federal budget law.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked the KRG’s delegation to Baghdad for successfully defending the financial rights of the Kurdistan Region, and noted the value of the Iraqi government’s cooperation.

He reiterated the KRG’s commitment to the law, and expressed hope that the agreement would lead to a better economic situation in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani presented updates on meetings with Iraqi ministries set to implement article 11 of the federal budget law. He was joined by Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab, who explained the latest developments in the 2021 Kurdistan Region budget.

Resuming work at government offices was also discussed, and the decision was made to begin normal working hours starting next week.
