Council of Ministers discusses National Human Rights Plan

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a meeting with the Council of Ministers on Wednesday to discuss new measures to improve human rights protection in the Kurdistan Region and secure a brighter future for the next generation.

Working with the Coordinator for International Advocacy on a National Human Rights Plan for 2021-2025, KRG will explore how it can achieve greater compliance with international treaties that Iraq is party to, and other best practices.

The Council is expected to vote on the plan next week.

The Council also approved the Agricultural Projects Oversight bill, which will play a significant role in creating new jobs for recent graduates, notably from agricultural colleges and institutes.
