Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - The Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers on Sunday held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and attended by his deputy Qubad Talabani.

Opening the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani offered his congratulations to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan for their 47 years of service in Kurdish politics.

He then briefed the Council on the KRG delegation’s visit to the World Economic Forum held in Davos.

Thereafter, the head of the Kurdistan Region’s auditing diwan briefed the council on their joint report with their Iraqi counterpart on the 2021 Federal Budget. The Council noted that, as per the Budget Law, the Federal Government deducted the Region’s financial obligation towards the Federal Budget from the Region's share and therefore should continue to send the Region’s share.

The Minister of Municipalities and Tourism then presented a report addressing the Region's tourism sector, with the head of the tourism board discussing the details of the report.

In response, Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the important role the tourism sector can play in introducing the beautiful nature and fascinating culture and identity of the Kurdistan Region and its people to tourists. The Council then approved the Ministry's report.
