Statement from the KRG: Ensuring Timely Salary Distribution and Commitment to Employees' Rights

Following a decision made during its most recent session, the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government, acting on the recommendations of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, dispatched a delegation to Baghdad today for discussions with the Iraq’s federal Ministry of Finance. The talks were constructive, leading to a mutual understanding between both sides and setting the stage for resolving the issue of salaries and financial entitlements for public sector employees in the region.

The distribution of October salaries is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 17 December 2024. Once the federal government releases the outstanding funds, the remaining unpaid salaries will be disbursed without delay.
