KRG Representative in Baghdad Meets Officials in Erbil to Discuss Coordination with Federal Institutions

On 30 June and 1 July 2025, Bakhtiar Haji, from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representation Office in Baghdad, visited several senior KRG officials to discuss ongoing cooperation with federal institutions in Baghdad.

On Monday, Haji met with Hemen Mirani, Director General at the KRG Ministry of Interior, to discuss issues of security coordination, traffic management, national ID issuance, and civil defence.

On Tuesday, he met with Abdulhakim Khasro, Head of the Department of Coordination and Follow-Up, to review the latest negotiations with Baghdad over public employees’ salaries and the Region’s budget. Both stressed the importance of continuing dialogue to reach a comprehensive financial agreement with the federal government.

Later the same day, Haji was received by Ano Jawhar, KRG Minister of Transport and Communications, to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise with federal bodies, including the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Communications and Media Commission, and the Ministry of Communications.

The meetings underscored the KRG’s commitment to strengthening ties and maintaining constructive engagement with federal institutions across key areas of governance.
