Over 11,000 square meters of minefields cleared in Mergasur

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) on Monday announced the decontamination of two minefields in the town of Mergasur in the province of Erbil.

IKMAA teams successfully destroyed a number of mines and UXOs that threatened the safety of residents in the area. Over 11,000 square meter of land can now be repurposed for civilian use, including agriculture or pastoral activities.
