IKMAA Continues Efforts to Raise Awareness of Mine and Explosive Dangers

On Sunday, 27 April 2025, the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) continued its efforts to raise public awareness about the dangers of mines, explosives, and war remnants by installing dozens of large warning signs along major roads and tourist routes throughout the Kurdistan Region.
As part of this campaign, the IKMAA office in Erbil installed several warning signs near Rolla Mountain in Rawandiz District. Similarly, the IKMAA office in Duhok placed multiple large awareness signs along tourist roads in the town of Amedi.
In Garmian, the IKMAA office installed and renewed several warning signs in the districts of Maydan and Quoratw to highlight the ongoing risks posed by mines and explosives.
Meanwhile, the Mine Awareness Team erected a large warning sign on the main road between Kalar and Slemani.
These signs aim to alert local villagers, visitors and tourists to the potential dangers in affected areas and to promote greater public safety.
