IKMAA Provides Public Awareness on Mines and Explosives

As part of the ongoing efforts of the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) Slemani Office, the Mine Victims Awareness and Support Department has conducted awareness campaigns aimed at reducing the risks posed by landmines, unexploded ordnance, and other remnants of war. These efforts included distributing educational booklets and magazines to residents in several villages across Slemani Governorate.
The team also carried out an awareness campaign in several villages of Piramagrun town, Slemani Governorate, to educate residents about the dangers of landmines, unexploded ordnance, and other war remnants, urging them to keep themselves and their livestock away from suspected hazardous areas. They were also advised not to tamper with minefield markings or demining team equipment.
You can call the IKMAA hotline on 182 free of charge to report mines, explosives, or unexploded ordnance.
