KRG Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Meets with Czech Consul General

On Tuesday, 18 March 2025, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Begard Talabani, met with Karel Kortánek, the Consul General of the Czech Republic in the Kurdistan Region.

Their discussions focussed on the latest developments in relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Czech Republic, particularly in agriculture, irrigation, and investment, as well as ways to benefit from the Czech Republic's advanced expertise.

During the meeting, preparations for a joint event between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Czech Government in Erbil were discussed. The event aims to foster collaboration between companies and project owners from the Czech Republic and the Kurdistan Region, focusing on key areas such as addressing climate change challenges, advancing agricultural development, constructing dams and ponds, improving irrigation projects, and integrating cutting-edge agricultural technology and irrigation systems. Additionally, discussions will explore strategies for optimising water resource management and conservation in the Kurdistan Region.
